With strategic shopping practices, you will be able to donate more food and personal care items to local food banks and shelters while saving significantly on your own grocery bill.

1. The goal of couponing is to buy when prices are at their lowest
which usually runs every 6-8 weeks in a store cycle. Stock up when items  are at their best price and you will not have to pay full price again!

2.  Save the entire Sunday coupon inserts and write the date on the front.  You do not need to cut out the individual coupons.   Most Sundays there will be a Red Plum (RP) and  a SmartSource (SS) insert. Usually on the first Sunday of the month there is also an additional P & G (Proctor & Gamble) coupon insert.

2.  Combine store sales with coupons. Coupon websites such as SouthernSavers.com post the best deals for matching coupons with featured store sale items. Print a shopping list and clip only the coupons you need.

3. Start small. Stick with one or two stores as you get to know their cycle and coupon policy. Over a 6 week period you will soon realize significant  savings in your grocery bill.
