We Care

Who They Are

The Chapin We Care Center was established in 1986 to work with families and individuals in  the community facing emergencies in their basic living needs. They serve as an outreach ministry for churches in Chapin, Little Mountain, Peak, Pomaria, Prosperity, and White Rock, South Carolina. With the support of their affiliated churches, local businesses, and individuals, Chapin We Care Center coordinates resources to act as a single point of service for their clients whether they need food, gas for doctor's appointments, kerosene, or help with utilities. Appropriate services are provided regardless of the client's religious affiliation.

The Chapin We Care Center is funded by local churches, individual donations, and support from local businesses and organizations. They DO NOT charge their clients for the services they receive. Ninety-three percent of the money they collect goes directly to client services. The remaining money goes toward overhead costs for their building and a full time director.

Participants of Saturday's ceremony also had an opportunity to tour the new space and learn more about We Care's mission.

"We are so grateful to everyone who helped with this building. It's been a blessing for all of us and we are truly blessed," Siegfried told observers.

Among the dignitaries present were Chapin Mayor Skip Wilson, Rep. Walt McLeod and Rep. Chip Huggins, who presented Maggie with a resolution from the SC House of Representatives that wished the organization continued success in helping the poor in its new facility.
