SNACKPACKS FOOD DRIVE: Wal-Mart Harbison, Fri-Sat, 4/11-4/12

Help Fight Hunger in Children!

Be sure to stop by Wal-Mart on Harbison Friday or Saturday and look for volunteers passing out a list of items needed for the SnackPack program. Help support the SnackPack program by buying anything on the list and dropping it off with the volunteers upon departure.

Volunteers stacking donated food
SnackPacks provides food for students who get their meals at school, and may have little or nothing to eat on the weekends. A bag is filled with 16 non-perishable, healthy food items by volunteers and delivered to their designated schools for the children to take home over the weekend. This food may help feed other family members as well.  Click here for more information on the SnackPack program.

Last school year SnackPacks served as many as 467 students a week in District 5. At a cost of $5 a bag that brings the total to over $90,000 a year. This year we are currently delivering 614 SnackPacks! Two hundred District 5 families received a FAMILY BOX at Christmas and again in June, July and August at a cost of at least $40 a box, totaling over $30.000!
