HELP WE CARE "MAGNIFY THE MIDLANDS!", May 6, 2014

On May 6, 2014, Chapin's We Care Center is one of more than 100 participating charities in Midlands Gives, a fundraising initiative of the Central Carolina Community Endowment. During this 24-hour period, every online donation of $20 and above will be multiplied if you donate through MidlandsGives.org.

Please visit the site anytime between 12:00 am and 11:59 pm, search for We Care Center and click on DONATE NOW. Your donation will go a long way in helping us provide food and warmth to those in need in Chapin and the surrounding communities. Food Lion supports local non-profit organizations and gives back to the communities they call home through their Community Rewards program. Chapin’s We Care Center Plans to Expand, Signs Lease on Larger Building

CHAPIN, SC - June 23, 2013 - We Care Center, Chapin’s Interfaith Outreach, has entered into a lease agreement with St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church for its former Thrift Shop building, which is located across the parking lot from We Care’s current facility. By renovating the old Thrift Shop, We Care will double its capacity, providing more space for food storage, food pantry operations and additional interview offices and meeting space. WE CARE Sticky Open Golf Tournament 6/01/13

Attention Golfers! Please register your teams for the annual We Care Sticky Open at beautiful Timberlake Country Club, Chapin, SC. This vital fundraiser helps We Care Center accomplish its mission of providing food and warmth to those in need in Chapin and surrounding areas.

The cost to register is $65 per individual plus 5 canned food items or $130 for teams of two plus 10 canned goods. They will use the Stableford point system. The tournament begins at 9 am. Please contact Alex Ciani at 803-345-5486 or Mary Ann Suda at 803-816-4132 to register.

WE CARE Food Drive Sat. 5/11

The annual Letter Carriers Food Drive is this Saturday, May 11th.

Unfortunately the National Letter Carriers Association decided for some reason not to supply the Chapin Post Office with the 10,000 reminder cards this year that the Letter Carriers could drop in your mail box to remind you of Saturday's Food Drive.

This means that the results of this food drive will not be as successful as it could have been.  This is the last major food drive before summer starts and as We Care supporters you know the need for food actually increases in summer when kids are home from school and do not have access to school breakfast and lunch programs.

We would really appreciate if you could let your friends know by email that the food drive is this Saturday and if they will put their food donations out by the mail box the letter carriers will pick them up and bring them to the We Care Center.

If each of you could share this information with 20 to 30 of your email friends this would help get the word out.

We Need Your Help to Build a Bigger We Care Center!

Help Us Assist Our Neighborhood and Win a $25,000 State Farm Grant

Chapin's We Care Center has been selected to support one of the 200 causes selected as finalists in the State Farm Neighborhood Assist™ program!  Our submission, "Expanding We Care", along with the other finalists, are live on Facebook and anyone who gets the State Farm Neighborhood Assist Facebook application can log on and vote for our cause. The 40 causes that receive the most votes will be announced on April 29 and a $25,000 grant will be awarded to the affiliated nonprofits to implement the solution.

We Care strives to improve the lives and welfare of people in our community, and we can further that mission by rallying together and encouraging others to join us in support by voting.

To support We Care and vote, visit the State Farm Neighborhood Assist Facebook app by clicking here to get the application, then click on the “Vote” button to show your support for Expanding We Care! The voting phase is open until April 22 and any Facebook user who gets the application is eligible to vote up to 10 times per day.
